5 highlights to see in Palawan Island

By on 29. Juni 2017

It is hard to choose the best 5 highlights to see in Palawan. Palawan is definitely on top of the selection, if there would be a list of the most wonderful places on our earth. It’s a paradisaic region, which lies in the west of the Philippines. It has some places, that are turely magical. No doubt about that! But there are some spots, which definitely stand out. Some of them are known, some others not that much. All of them will drop your jaw, because you gonna be so fascinated, that you can not believe it. Some of these places are more developed. Others are less developed. But you gonna be suprised anyway. Promised!

5 highlights to see in Palawan Island – El Nido

This one has to be the first one on the list of the 5 highlights to see in Palawan. As you will read in the following, it is not just only one place I mention here, it’s gonna be more, because there is a bit more to talk about. Still, all of them belong to the same area in the north of Palawan. The most beautiful thing about El Nido are lagoons and hidden spots you can see on the island hopping tours. These destinations are a true paradise, honestly. I think, that I can’t remember any comparable „heaven on earth“ destinations…

El Nido lagoons from above

You have to make sure to see all the main and known locations from these island hopping tours. Some of them can be left out. At the main highlight spots you will see countless intakt corals reefs, huge limstone rocks/ cliffs and the prettiest sand beaches you have ever seen. Each and every place has something really, really unique to it. Many can actually be seen in famous movies, because they are so pretty. Definitely something you have to put under your list of the top 5 highlights to see in Palawan. If you don’t, you gonna miss out.

Coron Island

While you are in Palawan or close to it, you should definitely put this place on your list of the 5 highlights to see in Palawan. It’s called „Coron Island„. Don’t forget all the beautiful islands around it though. This area is also an absolute paradise and goes hand in hand with what you see in El Nido. Everything in the Philippines is an absolute dream anyway, but Coron is on top of the list for sure. Especially for scuba divers. It is a big highlight. There are only a couple places in the world where you can dive at real shipwrecks from the 2nd world war. And Coron is one of them. Absolutely awesome!

Sunset in Coron

Also make sure to see the famous „Coron Lake“, which can be seen on every picture, when you type in „Coron“ on Google 😉 There is magical scenery waiting for you. It’s basically a light turquoise lake in the middle of huge, 50 – 80 m high surrounding limestone mountains with a healthy flora and fauna on them. Just great to look at! Additionally you can visit paradisaic spots like „Banana Island“ and others. I promise you, you won’t have seen a more intense water colour in your life before… ? So, definitely put this whole area on your list of the 5 highlights to see in Palawan.

Nacpan Beach

This beach must be under the 5 highlights to see in Palawan. You can’t miss it. Nacpan Beach might be my favourite beach from all the ones I have seen so far in my life. If not, then it is definitely under the top 5. That’s for sure! Nacpan Beach is not an insider, but still one of the more unknown spots in Palawan. Nacpan Beach has a lovely charme, because it is still a non touristic and almost undeveloped place. It’s a slightly curvey beach with a length of about 1 km, full of palms. You rarely find any restaurants, bars or anything similar, which could interupt your peaceful stay. I give you word, when you walk along this beach for the first time, you won’t believe your eyes…

Nacpan Beach from above is also one of the 5 highlights to see in Palawan Island

Twin Beach

Put Twin Beach under the 5 highlights to see in Palawan as well. It is the little brother of Nacpan Beach and it’s right next to it. If you look at the whole area from above via drone, then you can really experience the whole beauty of these two beaches. Jungle mountains in the back, palm trees everywhere and a fresh green valleys make this landscape even more scenic. The view during the sunset is matchless. You can see the silhouettes of huge limestone rocks in the back, which you can also see on the El Nido island hopping tour. There is no other word than „incredible“ for this.

Duli Beach

Duli Beach is the last spot on the list of the 5 highlights to see in Palawan. This place is certainly more of an insider. It’s about 25 minutes away from Nacpan Beach and it can only be reached by driving along bumpy dirt roads. The good thing about the tough ride is, that there is absolutely no tourism at or anything similar close to this beach. Just 1 beach bar, which offers surf boards to rent, can be found on a beach, which has a length of a couple hundred meters.

The only hut at Duli Beach

Duli Beach is a nice surf spot for beginners and advanced surfers. In my opinion, it looks like a beach, that someone imagined, painted and just put it somewhere in the region of Palawan. It’s like a painting. A completely relaxing and peaceful place, that can’t be missing on your list of the 5 highlights to see in Palawan.

Duli Beach is a true paradise and one of the 5 highlights to see in Palawan Island

And you can guess, there is waaaay more to have a look at on Palawan, but, if you start with the 5 highlights I mentioned, you will already make some memories for life!

  • Admiring the beauty of Morocco's National Parks... 😍🌴
.
One thing I learned again on my trip through this country is that being able to visit places like this is a true privilege
.
I have seen many many poor people in Morocco
.
Actually the poorest of the poorest
.
I even had to give a 10 year old kid some food that I had left in my car, while he wanted to sell me some souvenirs to get money for his family 😕
.
This would never ever happen where I come from. It's actually illegal ☝
.
But there, people have to do it
.
This was one of many situations in Morocco that taught me about something about GRATITUDE again
.
Being grateful is so important, especially for people from privileged countries
.
We all tend to forget what kind of great lifes we actually have, because things like a child labour or example, doesn't even effect us in any way
.
Most of us can actually be more than grateful for the lifes we live and the countries we are able to travel because of the money we make❗
.
Every time I travel a new country I realize this more and more
.
And I am highly thankful for those lessons each and every time, because you really only learn them when you visit poor foreign places
.
The best thing about these lessons is that you learn to be able to put things into perspective... 🙏
.
So thanks to the beauty of Morocco
.
Thanks to the awesome people I met
.
And thanks for all the lessons I have learned again... 👌

  • Enjoying a bit of sunlight after coming back home to Hamburg 😊
.
I just came back from Morocco today and I can only highly recommend to visit this country ❗
.
From all of the places I have visited so far, Morocco is definitely on top of my list for many reasons
.
It is no suprise that it is getting more and more popular every year
.
Nevertheless I have to say that it feels good to be back home 💙
.
I really didn't want to leave Morocco though... 😟
.
I would have loved to travel it even more, but I know I will definitely come back
.
The good thing is, there is always a next destination to travel to... 😉
.
TELL ME: Anyone having any recommendations where to travel next???

  • Riding into the desert's sunset... 🐫😀
.
Seeing the Sahara was a dream of mine for a long long time
.
When I finally realized it, I could not believe it
.
And I still can't... 🙈
.
Riding a camel for a couple hours, sleeping in a proper berber tent, having dinner and a jam session with the locals as well as watching the sunrise and the sunset was more than I ever expected 😍
.
So what does that show you ???
.
Simply that dreams come true❗
.
If you really believe in them, they will be reality one day
.
Just keep moving towards them all the time and you'll eventually arrive where you always wanted to be 💪
.

  • So in love view with that top view of the Dades Gorge 😍
.
And this is only the tip of iceberg... 👌
.
The drive to this place was absolutely phenomenal
.
I literally had to stop 6 or 7 times within 30 minutes to takes pictures, because the views just absolutely amazed me 👍
.
On the way there I also picked up a moroccan local as well as a german traveller, that I spent the last three days with
.
The east of the atlas mountains is absolutely worth a trip and I can only highly recommend to come here 😊
.
I also already learned something again from the locals
.
ALL of them are incredibly friendly and they always try to help you with everything you ask them, even if they can barley speak one word of English
.
And if they can't explain properly, they take you to a friend or they try to communicate with hands and feet until you understand them 😄
.
Such a lovely bunch of people ❤
.
The kindess thry have and love they spread is Definetely something to adopt!

  • How wonderful are the Ouzoud waterfalls??? 😍
.
I really start to fall in love with Morocco slowly❗
.
At first I had to a couple task to master but now I like this country more and more
.
Everywhere you go, you see extraordinary landscapes with stunning sights that simply take your breath away 👌
.
The ouzoud waterfalls are one of them
.
They rise up to about 110m and they are just a short trip away from the Marrakesh
.
Definitely worth a trip!
.
I am only here since 6 days and I can already highly recommend to make this one of your top destinations to travel to in 2018 👍
.
TELL ME: Does anyone know some good spots to visit along the southern coastline? 😄
.

  • Lost in the narrow alleys of Marrakesh 😍
.
I had a couple problems during my first two days in Morocco
.
When I arrived at the airport, the police took my drone away, because apparently you are not allowed to takes drones to this country
.
I also wasn't able to get a working navigation for the car that I have rented, so I had to sort it out in the city centre of Marrakesh, which wasn't that easy to be honest
.
Additionally I was not really prepared for the cold nights 😅
.
So it was quite a rough start
.
Nevertheless I have to say that I really like this Morocco so far❗
.
The food is great, during the day it's always sunny, the architecture is amazing and the people are incredibly friendly 😃
.
Today the REAL tour starts
.
I will leave Marrakesh and visit the highest waterfalls of Morocco in Ouzoud 😁
.
Sooo excited!
.
TELL ME: Do you have any other recommendations on what to see and do in Morocco???
.
Drop them in the comments! 😃
