5 highlights to see in Palawan Island

By on 29. Juni 2017

It is hard to choose the best 5 highlights to see in Palawan. Palawan is definitely on top of the selection, if there would be a list of the most wonderful places on our earth. It’s a paradisaic region, which lies in the west of the Philippines. It has some places, that are turely magical. No doubt about that! But there are some spots, which definitely stand out. Some of them are known, some others not that much. All of them will drop your jaw, because you gonna be so fascinated, that you can not believe it. Some of these places are more developed. Others are less developed. But you gonna be suprised anyway. Promised!

5 highlights to see in Palawan Island – El Nido

This one has to be the first one on the list of the 5 highlights to see in Palawan. As you will read in the following, it is not just only one place I mention here, it’s gonna be more, because there is a bit more to talk about. Still, all of them belong to the same area in the north of Palawan. The most beautiful thing about El Nido are lagoons and hidden spots you can see on the island hopping tours. These destinations are a true paradise, honestly. I think, that I can’t remember any comparable “heaven on earth” destinations…

El Nido lagoons from above

You have to make sure to see all the main and known locations from these island hopping tours. Some of them can be left out. At the main highlight spots you will see countless intakt corals reefs, huge limstone rocks/ cliffs and the prettiest sand beaches you have ever seen. Each and every place has something really, really unique to it. Many can actually be seen in famous movies, because they are so pretty. Definitely something you have to put under your list of the top 5 highlights to see in Palawan. If you don’t, you gonna miss out.

Coron Island

While you are in Palawan or close to it, you should definitely put this place on your list of the 5 highlights to see in Palawan. It’s called “Coron Island“. Don’t forget all the beautiful islands around it though. This area is also an absolute paradise and goes hand in hand with what you see in El Nido. Everything in the Philippines is an absolute dream anyway, but Coron is on top of the list for sure. Especially for scuba divers. It is a big highlight. There are only a couple places in the world where you can dive at real shipwrecks from the 2nd world war. And Coron is one of them. Absolutely awesome!

Sunset in Coron

Also make sure to see the famous „Coron Lake“, which can be seen on every picture, when you type in “Coron” on Google 😉 There is magical scenery waiting for you. It’s basically a light turquoise lake in the middle of huge, 50 – 80 m high surrounding limestone mountains with a healthy flora and fauna on them. Just great to look at! Additionally you can visit paradisaic spots like „Banana Island“ and others. I promise you, you won’t have seen a more intense water colour in your life before… ? So, definitely put this whole area on your list of the 5 highlights to see in Palawan.

Nacpan Beach

This beach must be under the 5 highlights to see in Palawan. You can’t miss it. Nacpan Beach might be my favourite beach from all the ones I have seen so far in my life. If not, then it is definitely under the top 5. That’s for sure! Nacpan Beach is not an insider, but still one of the more unknown spots in Palawan. Nacpan Beach has a lovely charme, because it is still a non touristic and almost undeveloped place. It’s a slightly curvey beach with a length of about 1 km, full of palms. You rarely find any restaurants, bars or anything similar, which could interupt your peaceful stay. I give you word, when you walk along this beach for the first time, you won’t believe your eyes…

Nacpan Beach from above is also one of the 5 highlights to see in Palawan Island

Twin Beach

Put Twin Beach under the 5 highlights to see in Palawan as well. It is the little brother of Nacpan Beach and it’s right next to it. If you look at the whole area from above via drone, then you can really experience the whole beauty of these two beaches. Jungle mountains in the back, palm trees everywhere and a fresh green valleys make this landscape even more scenic. The view during the sunset is matchless. You can see the silhouettes of huge limestone rocks in the back, which you can also see on the El Nido island hopping tour. There is no other word than “incredible” for this.

Duli Beach

Duli Beach is the last spot on the list of the 5 highlights to see in Palawan. This place is certainly more of an insider. It’s about 25 minutes away from Nacpan Beach and it can only be reached by driving along bumpy dirt roads. The good thing about the tough ride is, that there is absolutely no tourism at or anything similar close to this beach. Just 1 beach bar, which offers surf boards to rent, can be found on a beach, which has a length of a couple hundred meters.

The only hut at Duli Beach

Duli Beach is a nice surf spot for beginners and advanced surfers. In my opinion, it looks like a beach, that someone imagined, painted and just put it somewhere in the region of Palawan. It’s like a painting. A completely relaxing and peaceful place, that can’t be missing on your list of the 5 highlights to see in Palawan.

Duli Beach is a true paradise and one of the 5 highlights to see in Palawan Island

And you can guess, there is waaaay more to have a look at on Palawan, but, if you start with the 5 highlights I mentioned, you will already make some memories for life!

  • Exploring the old conifer forests of southern Sweden...🌲🌳
.
Sweden is such a wonderful country with lots of great things to see
.
Especially unknown places like Undenäs are extremely beautiful and something I always like to remember 😍
.
Most of the time, the places that noone really goes to are the ones that are most fun and exciting to explore, right?
.
TELL ME: What's the most remote place you have ever been to??? 😄 .

  • Golden sunset at Twin Beach in El Nido 🌅🌄
.
I don't know what it exactly is, but there is something magical about a great sunset
.
Maybe it's the fact that is symbolises the end of a day. But there never really is an end to it, because a couple hours later, once we wake up, we have the chance again to do something great with our lifes 💪
.
Each and every single day we can decide how we want to spend the day, what goals we work towards to and ultimately what kind of value we bring to other people 👍
.
It's always only up to ourselfs, if we are happy at the end of the day during sunset
.
Never forget, we all have a choice. Always❗

Some places on our planet are just crazy beautiful .
It's almost impossible to describe the beauty and the feeling that you get when you walk around at beaches like this one 🌞
.
I could not say which beach of all the ones I have seen so far would be the best one, but all the beaches in El Nido are definitely top ranked 🌏

  • Hello mate, how are you? 😀🐻🐾
.
Isn't that the cutest animal on earth?
.
What I can definitely say for myself is that they are easily the fluffiest I have ever touched 😍
.
And they are by far the most relaxed animals ever. Maybe because of all the eucalyptus they eat... 😉

.
A new chance to improve
.
A new chance to do something good
.
A new chance to bring value to the world
.
A new chance to walk towards the right direction
.
And ultimately and new chance to get the best out your life and make great memories!

Great Memories that you can tell grandchildren about in 50 years from now, which will teach them some valuable lessons for life 🙏

  • A perfect example of a unique city that can teach a great lesson❗
.
Spending some time in one of the coolest and most beautiful cities on the planet made me think about what an insane level of power, creativity and endurance humanity has
.
It's crazy what we are able to do and to build nowerdays. But it has always been like this ⏳
.
Prague is a really good example for that. A city full of thousands and thousands of details, wonderful buildings and historically important monuments, all built over a course of hundreds of years
.
And the required power, creativity and endurance the people needed is something that we all have within ourselfs 🔥
.
It's not only reservated for specific people or special human beings
.
Everyone has that in him/ herself ! 💪
.
It's just about recognizing these strenghts and letting them all out... 👊 and don't let anyone tell you any different!
.
I always say this (on my website as well) - travel is the best teacher. You just need to find the true values of it and adapt them to your everyday life 👌
.

  • What's the true value of home? 😍🍁
.
Pretty autumn views like this one from a nearby forest of my hometown Hamburg?
.
Maybe...
.
But not really. In my opinion it's something else
.
As much as I like travelling around, discovering new places, getting to know other cultures, meeting new people and seeing other types of wonderful landscapes, I just still never forget where I come from ⚓
.
Exploring the world as much as possible is great, but there is also a great value in appreciating your own Backround
.
The more I look around, the more I see young people like me, who want to escape from their home countries, just to wander around for as long as possible with no real intent
.
I think that's a big mistake! ☝
.
When the travel bug gets me again, I never JUST travel around to say:" hey look, I left things behind and went on the next big journey. Isn't that awesome???"
.
It is in a way, but not to much to be honest
.
When I go somewhere I always try to learn something new from the journey itself, the people or the culture AND THEN take it back home with me and use for my future
.
This why HOME is so important... Because it's the base where it all starts and Without home there would be nothing to ultimately come back and adapt your new skills to
.
So always make sure to appreciate home and where you come from 👌💪
.

  • I can already say, that exploring Nacpan Beach was one of the most beautiful things I have done this year even though there are still 2 months left... 😉😍
.
It's always fascinating to me how fast beautiful places like this usually become mass tourism spots
.
Luckily Nacpan Beach is still quite undeveloped and therefore one of the prettiest and most pristine beaches in northern Palawan in my opinion
.
Hopefully it stays like this for a long, long time ⏳🙏
.
If you have never been, I highly recommend to make this one of your next travel goals 😄

  • I don't know about you but I absolutely LOVE adventures❗
.
You know why?
.
Because they push you, they are fun AND you LEARN something valuable from them every single time 👊
.
One of the greatest adventures I have done in my life so far was a road trip through the center of Vietnam with my motorcycle that I called "Foxy Roxy" (I know that's weird 😅)
.
When I did it, I did not know what to expect, but my goal was to have an awesome time
.
I found out pretty quickly that it's gonna be a hard challenge: many locals didn't really speak English, roads have been in bad constitution, I got lost a couple times, my motorbike broke down 2 times, I freezed my ass off in the mountains and much, much more
.
So why was this adventure great then?
.
Because I LEARNED that you have got to keep pushing even if you struggle hard. You always have to keep going. Never give up. Keep moving and don't ever stop 💪
.
That's what I did, which is why I ended up having an amazing time: I saw awesome landscapes, met the friendliest people, found lost temples and ultimately learned an important lesson for life
.
ALWAYS keep pushing towards you goals EVERY single day and never give up
.
I AM CURIOUS: What is your biggest travel lesson??? 😊
.
