How to travel the World and live Life to the Fullest

By on 12. Dezember 2016

There is a big question on “how to travel the world” in a suitable way for yourself. It is not that easy to find the right way and it takes a bit of time. You can travel in many different ways, but in my opinion you have to have some attributes in order to experience life to the fullest while you travel…I am lucky, that I have already found the way I want to travel the world. I know what kind of mindset I want to conquer the world with, what kind of stuff I want to do or see and how I want to do it. So the following tips are based on my opinion and experiences. It might not be suittable for everyone, but maybe it helps you a little bit to find your way on how to travel the world 🙂

How to travel the world in your own way

Have the right attitude

I have learned most of what I share in this article during my time in Australia, South East Asia, Fiji and New Zealand. There are so many ways on how to travel the world. I have done most of them, but one thing had to develope first… the right attitude! In my opinion you have to have the right attitude to travel around the world. You will learn a lot along the way, but I think you got to bring some attributes to the table before you even start.

You need to be very curious. It’s crutual to be open minded. You need to be willing to explore something completely new. You need to open up to other people, cultures, ideas and ways of living. It’s also important to be spontanious. You need to be able to handle bad situations. There are much more things you should call being a part of your personality in order to have a great time while you travel, but the most important one for me is definitely a solid and positive attitude.

How to travel the world – Just have the right attitude and you can do anything

Have an open heart

I guess you want to meet new people and learn about other countries and cultures while you travel, right? In order to do that, you need to have an open heart and an open mind. When you open your heart, beautiful things will happen in your life. You basically almost only attract positive stuff. Good things will happen a lot more than you are maybe used to. And when you have an open mind, you will maybe find a way to integrate and adapt these wonderful things into your own life. Whatever that might be or look like.

How to travel the world – Have an open heart and you’ll meet great people

Get out of your comfort zone

How to travel the world was the question that I asked myself a lot of times. I figured that I need to get out of my comfort zone as much as I can in order to live life to the fullest. And not just a bit. I think you need to get far out of your comfort zone in order to grow and to experience incredible things that you can still talk about when you are old. For each and every traveller that means something different.

Maybe it means for you that you get you ass up and talk to the girl right next to you in a bar even though you are scared. Or it means that you do a skydive. Or it means that you go to a country where nobody speaks your language. It could mean a lot of things, but you should definitely try to leave your comfort zone as much as you can. It is the only true way to reach to your goals and get closer to freedom!

When you leave your comfort zone you will experience incredible things – Motorbike tour through Vietnam

Just do it

The Nike slogan is something that I truely believe in as well. During travelling you will always get confronted with situations where you  can either take a risk or step back and watch things happening. I found for myself that it is almost always better to say “just do it“, because that is the reason for great things happening in your life. Before I travelled New Zealand I was in a dilemma.

I did not have that much money, but I really wanted to see this country and do all the adventures activities that I have heard of. So I said “fuck it, just do it” (solved the money issue later) and it was the right decision once again. I had an awesome time there. I went white and black water rafting, I saw Hobbiton, I swum with wild dolphins, I did the Tongario crossing, I sailed through Milford Sound, I met a Maori tribe, I have seen Cape Reinga, and so much more. And only, because I did not hesitate and took action.

How to travel the world – You need to have a “Just do it” attitude

Do not judge people

One of the worst things you can do when you want to know how to travel the world in the best way possible for you, is to judge people to straight away. We all tend to judge people from the way look, speak or what we heard of them. Never ever do that again! You never know what kind of person is in front of you. They could have the coolest stories to tell and advice to give.

I would not have travelled to Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and New Zealand, if other travellers would not have told me to do so.I did not judge any of these persons and the advice they gave me was worth so much. Only because of them I had the best time in these countries. Before I travelling I would not have spoken to them for many reasons, but I now I would never judge anyone anymore before I really had longer converation with them.

Never judge! Guys from Holland that I have contact with until today

Do not be afraid to ask

Only when you ask people for something you will get an advice. I learned that in Saigon – Ho Chi Minh. The former capitol of Vietnam. I bought a motorbike there and drove through whole Vietnam for a month. I ask the local motorbike salesman for an advice which road to take from saigon to Hanoi. It came out that he did this joruney 4 or 5 times at least. So he knew, which road is the coolest and most adventures. I followed his advice.

You would not believe what I have seen and where I have been 🙂 Just brilliant! And only because I was not afraid to ask. You do not have to know everything. You just need to know where to get the information from. So keep asking and keep being curious and you will have the best stories to tell 😉

Keep asking people for anything. Only got to know Gili from other travellers stories

Travel in different ways

There are various ways how to travel the world. You can with friends, with a partner, travel solo, travel low budget, travel high budget, with working in between, without working in between and in many more ways. My only advice on that is you should try them all out and see what fits you best. I have done them all and they all have something positive and something negative. It is not easy to say, which one is the right one for you. But, if you want to find out how to travel the world and live life to the fullest in your specific way, than I guess you will have to try all of them 🙂

  • Strolling through paradise... 😍👌🌴
.
Some places on our planet are just crazy beautiful .
It's almost impossible to describe the beauty and the feeling that you get when you walk around at beaches like this one 🌞
.
I could not say which beach of all the ones I have seen so far would be the best one, but all the beaches in El Nido are definitely top ranked 🌏
.
TELL ME: Where did you really feel lost (in a good way 😉) the last time???
.

  • Hello mate, how are you? 😀🐻🐾
.
Isn't that the cutest animal on earth?
.
What I can definitely say for myself is that they are easily the fluffiest I have ever touched 😍
.
And they are by far the most relaxed animals ever. Maybe because of all the eucalyptus they eat... 😉
.
TELL ME: What's YOUR favourite animal?

  • The door to Angkor Wat during sunrise 😍🌅
.
I love a good sunrise! Not only because of its enormous beauty, but mainly for the fact that it's the perfect symbol for a new chance 👌
.
A new chance to improve
.
A new chance to do something good
.
A new chance to bring value to the world
.
A new chance to walk towards the right direction
.
And ultimately and new chance to get the best out your life and make great memories!
.
Great Memories that you can tell grandchildren about in 50 years from now, which will teach them some valuable lessons for life 🙏

  • A perfect example of a unique city that can teach a great lesson❗
.
Spending some time in one of the coolest and most beautiful cities on the planet made me think about what an insane level of power, creativity and endurance humanity has
.
It's crazy what we are able to do and to build nowerdays. But it has always been like this ⏳
.
Prague is a really good example for that. A city full of thousands and thousands of details, wonderful buildings and historically important monuments, all built over a course of hundreds of years
.
And the required power, creativity and endurance the people needed is something that we all have within ourselfs 🔥
.
It's not only reservated for specific people or special human beings
.
Everyone has that in him/ herself ! 💪
.
It's just about recognizing these strenghts and letting them all out... 👊 and don't let anyone tell you any different!
.
I always say this (on my website as well) - travel is the best teacher. You just need to find the true values of it and adapt them to your everyday life 👌

  • What's the true value of home? 😍🍁
.
Pretty autumn views like this one from a nearby forest of my hometown Hamburg?
.
Maybe...
.
But not really. In my opinion it's something else
.
As much as I like travelling around, discovering new places, getting to know other cultures, meeting new people and seeing other types of wonderful landscapes, I just still never forget where I come from ⚓
.
Exploring the world as much as possible is great, but there is also a great value in appreciating your own Backround
.
The more I look around, the more I see young people like me, who want to escape from their home countries, just to wander around for as long as possible with no real intent
.
I think that's a big mistake! ☝
.
When the travel bug gets me again, I never JUST travel around to say:" hey look, I left things behind and went on the next big journey. Isn't that awesome???"
.
It is in a way, but not to much to be honest
.
When I go somewhere I always try to learn something new from the journey itself, the people or the culture AND THEN take it back home with me and use for my future
.
This why HOME is so important... Because it's the base where it all starts and Without home there would be nothing to ultimately come back and adapt your new skills to
.
So always make sure to appreciate home and where you come from 👌💪

  • I can already say, that exploring Nacpan Beach was one of the most beautiful things I have done this year even though there are still 2 months left... 😉😍
.
It's always fascinating to me how fast beautiful places like this usually become mass tourism spots
.
Luckily Nacpan Beach is still quite undeveloped and therefore one of the prettiest and most pristine beaches in northern Palawan in my opinion
.
Hopefully it stays like this for a long, long time ⏳🙏
.
If you have never been, I highly recommend to make this one of your next travel goals 😄

  • I don't know about you but I absolutely LOVE adventures❗
.
You know why?
.
Because they push you, they are fun AND you LEARN something valuable from them every single time 👊
.
One of the greatest adventures I have done in my life so far was a road trip through the center of Vietnam with my motorcycle that I called "Foxy Roxy" (I know that's weird 😅)
.
When I did it, I did not know what to expect, but my goal was to have an awesome time
.
I found out pretty quickly that it's gonna be a hard challenge: many locals didn't really speak English, roads have been in bad constitution, I got lost a couple times, my motorbike broke down 2 times, I freezed my ass off in the mountains and much, much more
.
So why was this adventure great then?
.
Because I LEARNED that you have got to keep pushing even if you struggle hard. You always have to keep going. Never give up. Keep moving and don't ever stop 💪
.
That's what I did, which is why I ended up having an amazing time: I saw awesome landscapes, met the friendliest people, found lost temples and ultimately learned an important lesson for life
.
ALWAYS keep pushing towards you goals EVERY single day and never give up
.
I AM CURIOUS: What is your biggest travel lesson??? 😊

  • There is a quote that says "if traveling was free, you'd never see me again" and this quote fits my attitude a 100%❗
.
My ultimate goal is to become free one day, financially and personally, so that I can travel to awesome places like banaue in the Philippines whenever I want 😍
.
Just being free of boundaries and the 9 to 5 lifestyle
.
If I had the chance, I'd probably travel the whole planet 🌎
.
Who's with me on this??? 😀

  • One of the best sunsets I have ever seen was on Koh Lanta in Thailand 🌅
.
I just love a good sunset and I know I am not the only one... 😉
.
So TELL ME: where was your favourite sunset at? 🌎
.
P.s. I am going to London in 3 weeks. Anyone who has some tips on what to do?
